The band was named after Tahni Jones--amazing sculptor,
philosopher, and poet who passed away several years ago (Tahni told his sister, Georgi, shortly before he died that he had
been "playing life by ear"). The band name is a combination of Jones and being in general on the left-handed side
of things. Amanda Pollack (the human megaphone) actually came up with the idea to combine the two words to form the
band's name.
